Connections

Solarix services require reliable bandwidth streams to operate effectively. In recent years New Zealand has seen a rollout of larger fibre networks and the availability of more connectivity. This activity is expanding and enables substantial communication cost reduction for Solarix clients.

1. DSL
Solarix can provide services over DSL, however this is only for 2-3 person office and we would prefer to use UNS whenever practically possible.

DSL is often used for a backup circuit or to provide internet only service. Typically DSL offers speeds of 500K up and 3M down.

DSL2 is being launched soon and this will provide higher levels of bandwidth to each connection and enable Solarix to offer more services.

2. Fibre
Fibre is now widely available in many metropolitan centres and more network coverage is being deployed. Cost of using fibre is dropping at the same time.

Fibre is the most reliable communications delivery platform and provides guaranteed performance. Fibre offers speeds of between 2M and 1G.

Using Fibre enables Solarix to deliver a full range of hosted infrastructure options to clients which substantially saves costs.

3. Wireless
Solarix will use wireless services where they are available and options like fibre and UNS have been ruled out. Although cheaper, wireless relies on line-of-sight technology and suffers from reliability issues.

Common wireless links can provide up to 4M with 1M guaranteed. DMR links can provide up to 100M.

4. UNS
UNS services enable Solarix to deliver guaranteed bandwidth (up to 2M) and services to most of New Zealand.

UNS is reliable and cost effective more most customers.

5. One Office
The one office product delivers a national network service with guaranteed bandwidth. One office is a cost effective way of linking a company with remote office locations.

Replace ISDN with SIP

Essentially SIP enables Solarix to host our clients digital channels and provide these services via high speed connections. Mike Conner ran the first ever SIP trunk in the world in partnership with Siemens. Solarix SIP provides crystal clear voice.

Using Solarix SIP services can reduce ISDN rental costs by up to 70%.

Keeping your numbers is important and they can easily be ported over to Solarix’s network.

Porting your numbers to Solarix will save you money through reduced line rental costs and cheaper calling rates.

Solarix can also obtain new telephone numbers should you wish in every area of New Zealand.

Audio Conferencing

Solarix provides an extremely cost effective audio conferencing service. Solarix PBX customers can access our audio conferencing service for 7 cents a minute.

Solarix PBX customers can use our audio conferencing free of charge.

Video conferencing

Fuel costs are getting more expensive. 2 months worth of airline fare savings can often pay for a video conferencing solution.

Solarix can provide a SIP enables solution which allows a master unit in a head office to conference in 6 regionally offices at the same time.

Cheaper calling

Solarix operates its own VOIP network with QOS across it. This prevents packets of data being lost or slowed down and results in great voice quality for our clients. All client networks and products using VOIP are also only installed if Solarix is able to provide QOS.

Although VOIP is hot again, the infrastructure can be very expensive. Sometimes the best solution for a client is just to lock in calling rates and use another companies VOIP network.

Solarix is linked to many VOIP providers whose calling rates change often on a daily basis. The Solarix intelligent billing system selects the least cost routing for each individual call minimizing our clients calling charges.

Skype Interface

Solarix offers a Skype “follow me” service. This enables clients to link their skype address to their PBX system and inbound Skype calls to be router through to DDIs and to be able to access clients PBX directories.

Full Featured PBX

Fax to email

Solarix provides a fax to email service where all inbound faxes are digitized and forwarded to preset email addresses.

For outbound faxes Solarix recommends clients retain the use of a conventional fax machine. This is because not all fax machines support the T38 protocol which is used in fax to email so sometimes it is impossible to send faxes using T38 fax to email.

Free calling over Solarix network

Solarix provides free calling between any office or company which is connected on our network.

If a company recommends all their partners to join up, this will result in free calling between their offices no matter where in New Zealand they are.
